It’s taken me a few weeks to finish going through my 2019 Powersheets prepwork, but I’ve finally finalized everything. I’ve been taking the beginning of this new year very slowly, giving myself lots of grace along the way. January has been a bit of a month of pause for me. A chance to process the loss my family has experienced, while leaning on the Lord for strength and direction.

As part of my yearly prep, I followed the Powersheets goal-setting pages and also created a Pinterest vision board and yearly vision statement (more on those below).

I also selected Ephesians 3:20 as my verse for the year, and MORE as my 2019 word of the year (both of which helped me write my vision statement and eventually set my goals).

As I worked through the PowerSheets prompts and built my Pinterest board, certain threads began to emerge. As part of the PowerSheets prep, I also identified what I’m going to say YES and NO to in the year ahead, which helped me focus on getting to the heart of my goals even more.

Here are my Yes and No lists:

What I’m Saying No To

Comparison
Negativity (and getting stuck there)
Living from a place/faith of scarcity
Disorganization
Doubting God’s goodness
Limiting God
Being glued to my phone
Timelines (both self-imposed and imposed by society; God’s plans are better and higher!)
Missing opportunities from Him

What I’m Saying Yes To

Believing where He has me is GOOD and purposeful
Positive thoughts + HOPE
Living an abundant faith
Simplifying
Dating with hope and TRUST in God
Limiting screen time + social-media-free Sundays
Self-care
Investing in relationships
Growing stronger every day
Eating healthy/nourishing foods
Scripture daily
Bible Study Fellowship
Immeasurably MORE in Christ
Daily prayer
Gratitude
Counting the fruit
New adventures
Steps of faith
Making the most of every day

All of my prep-work, journaling, and prayer led me to create the following vision board, vision statement, and yearly goals:

My 2019 Vision

In 2019, I will expand my faith, trust, and reliance on God. I will seek to live with a faith that believes He is able to carry out His purpose and do immeasurably MORE than all I could ask or think [infinitely beyond my greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within me. (Ephesians 3:20) I will let go of any discouragements and distractions that cause me to limit and doubt His goodness and work in my life. I will create new rhythms and routines that help me focus on what matters most. I will walk forward in faith, doing the next right thing, while trusting Him with the outcome. 2019 will be a year of stretching my faith, of deeper trust, and a year of knowing and believing Him MORE.

My 2019 Goals

1. Do the next right thing (at home, at work, personally).
2. Make space in my life and heart to hear God and respond.
3. Pursue wellness, wholeness, renewal, and strength through Christ.
4. Build and strengthen relationships.
5. Establish new rhythms and routines that minimize stress and help me focus on what matters most.
6. Grow my confidence, trust, and reliance on God. Cultivate a faith that doesn’t limit Him.

It’s been a difficult start to the new year, but I am still hopeful in Him. He is present with us in both the highs and the lows of life, and for that, I am so, so grateful.

Have you set any goals or intentions for 2019? If so, I’d love to hear them!
